10 October 2002 18:10 First beryllium-bronze ingots produced in Kazakhstan The first consignment of beryllium bronze ingots from Ulba Metallurgical Plant [in East Kazakhstan Region] has been
sent to a non-ferrous processing plant in Moscow.
The experts at the Moscow plant have highly assessed the quality of the product. The first samples of bronze strips
have been produced. The Ulba Metallurgical Plant's task is to produce ingots and the Moscow plant should do the
rolling of these ingots, which are widely used in highly technological branches of electronic, instrument making and
electrical engineering industries. The growth of these branches in Russia will ensure the success of the project as a
whole.
By the way, the beryllium plant in Kazakhstan is the second producer of beryllium in the world. It has a full cycle
of processing - from ore concentrates up to metallic beryllium and its alloy.
