03 March 2003 00:00 RUSSIAN PRESIDENT VLADIMIR PUTIN SPEAKS TO PRESIDENT TARJA HALONEN OF FINLAND BY TELEPHONE
Today, on the Finnish side's initiative, Russian President Vladimir Putin had a telephone conversation with Tarja Halonen, the President of Finland.
During the conversation, specific aspects of Russian-Finnish cooperation were discussed. Putin and Halonen expressed satisfaction with the fact that all questions on the bilateral agenda are being solved in a constructive spirit, fully corresponding to the nature of the relations of partnership between the two countries.
The Presidents of Russia and Finland also exchanged views on pressing international issues. Both sides emphasized the importance of consistent efforts for achieving a politico-diplomatic resolution of the situation around Iraq.
