20 February 2003 08:11 Poll shows Russians worried by poverty, price rises, unemployment Moscow, 20 February: Russians see impoverishment of the majority of residents, rising prices and unemployment as the
most acute problems in the country.
This information was obtained in a poll of over 2,000 respondents conducted by the All-Russian Centre for Public
Opinion Studies [VTsIOM] in January.
Fifty-six per cent of respondents said that impoverishment of the majority of Russian residents was the number one
problem.
Forty-eight per cent of respondents said that rising prices were the number two problem, while 44 per cent were
concerned about unemployment.
