17 February 2003 14:22 Instrumentarium's Medko Medical Project Sales Unit to Equip New IFC-financed Medical Center in St. Petersburg, Russia Helsinki, Instrumentarium today announced that it's project sales unit Medko Medical has signed a contract to
deliver medical equipment and services to a New Medical Center "NMC" in St. Petersburg, Russia. The
International Finance Corporation played the lead role in financing the project. The NMC will include a family medicine
clinic, a wide range of specialty outpatient clinics, a full-scale clinical laboratory, a diagnostic imaging department,
and a small surgical/medical inpatient unit. The main sponsor for the project is Scanfert a Finnish company specialized
in infertility treatment, which operates an existing clinic in St. Petersburg. Medko Medical will be responsible for
supplying the medical equipment, as well as the related installation and training. Financing for the project was
provided through the International Finance Corporation, Finnfund, Finnvera and Nordea Plc. Finnvera acted as the credit
guarantor. The total project cost for the NMC is estimated at US$9 million. The order for Medko Medical represents
