RUSSIA: 1.5 MILLION PEOPLE UNEMPLOYED
According to Interfax, the government of Russia on Thursday adopted the labour policy for the period 2003-2005,
Russian Labour Minister Alexander Pochinok told a news conference after a government session. An estimated 1.5 million
people are now officially registered as unemployed in Russia, which is almost 200,000 more than last year, he
disclosed.
