to Guy Guffers, the director of product management in Russia, Philip Morris Izhora produced 40 billion cigarettes (25
billion in 2001) and Philip Morris Kuban produced 33 billion cigarettes (2 billion in 2001). According to Rosbalt, the
total amount of tax paid by Philip Morris in Russia in 2002 amounted to US$355.5 million, say an increase of US$ 63.5
million compared to 2001. The company invested more than US$550 million in its two production facilities, of which US$
360 million was invested in Philip Morris Izhora.
