ON HOLDING OF THIRD INTERNATIONAL EURASIAN TRANSPORT CONFERENCE

In accordance with an order of the Government of the Russian Federation a decision has been taken to hold the Third International Eurasian Transport Conference in the city of St. Petersburg on September 11-12, 2003.

The ministers of transport of the countries of Europe and Asia, and the representatives of the European Parliament, the European Commission, UNECE, UNESCAP, ECMT, the CTM of the CIS Member States, EATU and international organizations, of the heads of federal executive bodies, of the administrations of subjects of the Russian Federation, of leading scientific research organizations of the transport industry, of state sectoral organizations and of the business circles of Russia, Europe and Asia are expected to take part.

The Ministry of Transport of the Russian Federation, Ministry of Railways of the Russian Federation, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, the St. Petersburg City Administration, and the Government of the Leningrad Region will act as the organizers of the Conference.

The Conference will be held with the cooperation of: the Commission of the European Communities, United Nations Economic Commission for Europe, United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific, the European Conference of Ministers of Transport, and the Coordination Transport Meeting of the CIS Member States.

Viktor Khristenko, Deputy Chairman of the Government of the Russian Federation, has been appointed the head of the Organizing Committee for the Conference.
