President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin has sent congratulatory messages to Indian President A.P.J. Abdul Kalam and Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee on the occasion of a national holiday of India - Republic Day.
The messages note, in part, that Russia highly appreciates and sincerely cherishes its good relations with India and the many-faceted Russian-Indian cooperation, which has in recent years assumed the new quality of a strategic partnership.
The President of Russia expressed confidence that Russia and India will further build on constructive cooperation in bilateral and global affairs for universal peace, international stability and progress.
