Secure packaging systems, efficient storage and retrieval systems and reliable equipment
transport vehicles have begun to play an exceedingly important role in the freight and cargo industry, as businesses
move to the global arena and target an international customer base. This is particularly true of Dubai which has grown
to become the region's re-export and transshipment hub, said Michael El Nayal, Managing Partner, EPOC Messe
Frankfurt. Aimed at enhancing efficiency in the materials handling industry, this exhibition will address the important
themes of packaging and movement and will provide a centrally located meeting platform for international exhibitors and
clients to exchange information about successful logistics strategies and innovative business
ideas.
Setting new standards in the materials handling industry, SSI Schaefer LLC, the local
subsidiary of the worldwide Fritz Schaefer GmbH Group of Companies will be launching the PEEM Automated Retrieval System
for pharmaceutical products, a range of Pallet Conveyors and the Pickomat Automatic Storage and Retrieval System. Based
on its slogan 'Solutions that Fit' Schaefer has established itself as one of the main providers of Storage and
Materials Handling Systems and products in the GCC region ranging from simple bay of shelving to a fully automated
pallet aisle (AS/RS system) to equipment for the storage of automotive and commercial vehicle parts.
Al Thika Packaging, which is a first time exhibitor at the exhibition will be displaying the Robopac
Robot 2003 self propelled pallet wrapper. This product stretch wraps palletised or non-palletised goods by moving
automatically around them, applying stretch film as it does. Unlike a traditional pallet-wrapping turntable, it can be
moved quickly and easily from one location to another and can wrap very large goods that would be too heavy or too bulky
to fit on a turntable. The Robopac range of pallet- wrapping systems also features standard rotating turntable types
with specialised models for use in cold stores, acidic environments, models with built in load cells to weigh goods and
turntables with 'cut-out' to allow direct loading by pallet trucks.
Revealing its new
Craemer CR3 pallet at the exhibition will be Paul Craemer GmbH, known worldwide for its pallets, wide range of stacking,
waste disposal bins and transport crates for modern logistics. Craemer continuously upgrades its products and systems
for transportation, warehousing and waste-disposal in addition to developing new ones in keeping with current market-tr
Godrej, a 105-year old engineering colossus, which plans to explore new markets in Africa,
South-East Asia and the Russian Federation, while consolidating their presence in the Middle East, will display its 3
tonne Forklift, which is part of the Godrej's GX series. Equipped with powerful and environment friendly engines,
the forklift highlights operator comfort and ergonomics as the key features of its contemporary design. A user-friendly
driver cell, clear view masts and overhead guard, automatic transmission, full-floated drive axle and power steering
make GX Diesel and LPG/Petrol Forklifts truly contemporary.
Caterpillar, will reveal its new range
of 3-wheel, 24-Volt EPK RT range of electric counterbalance lift trucks consisting of three new models. The EPK RT lift
trucks have a very small width of only 997mm and an overall length to fork face of 1700 mm, which makes this model
specifically suitable in applications where maneuverability and space utilization is critical. Typical for the 24-Volt
type lift trucks is the single rear wheel drive while fewer mechanical and electric drive components reduce running
costs to a minimum.
Linde will introduce a revolutionary new engine powered hydrostatic
counterbalance truck by launching the new IC Truck 392/393 Series 39X in the 2.0 tonne and 2.5 tonne capacity range
which offers productivity coupled with cost savings. The 39X, is the world's first forklift where the entire truck
benefits from a maintenance free suspension system which provides ride comfort and results in smoother more stable load
handling.
Making a first appearance at the exhibition, Electromech one of the premier manufacturers
of cranes and hoists in the Indian sub-continent will be launching the girder segment lifting hoists in addition to
showcasing its standard product range of electric wire rope hoists, single girder bridge cranes, double girder bridge
cranes, goliath/gantry cranes, circular/polar cranes, warehouse stacker cranes and high speed high lift winches.
