23 December 2002 00:31 Unemployment rate in Russia slightly down in November MOSCOW. Dec 23 (Interfax) - The total rate of unemployed in Russia was 5.142 million by late November 2002 (an 18.4%
year-to-year drop from 6.303 million), the State Statistics Committee reported Monday.
The unemployment rate was down 0.1% (3,000) in November, they said.
The unemployment rate in Russia is decreasing month by month. The rate was down 1.8% in January, 1.9% in February,
2.4% in March, 2.5% in April, 2.6% in May, 2.0% in June, 2.0% in July, 2.1% in August, 0.8% in September and 0.3% in
October.
The level of unemployment at the end of November was rated at 7.1% of the economically active population of Russia.
The total strength of Russia's economically active population (both employed and unemployed) amounted to 72.6
