23 December 2002 20:30 Russian state committee releases employment statistics for 2002 Moscow, 23 December: The number of unemployed in Russia fell 0.1 per cent on the month and 18.4 per cent on the year
in November to 5,142,000, or 7.1 per cent of the labour force, the State Statistics Committee said on Monday [23
December].
The figure was calculated according to the methodology of the International Labour Organization [ILO].
The number of officially registered unemployed in Russia rose 4.4 per cent on the month and 17.3 per cent on the year
in November to 1,249,000, or 1.7 per cent of the labour force.
Russia's labour force was estimated at 72.6m at the end of November, the committee said.
