RUSSIAN AUDIT CHAMBER DELEGATION TO VISIT GREAT BRITAIN
A delegation of the Audit Chamber of the Russian Federation, led by its Deputy Chairman Alexander Semikolennykh, will pay an official visit to the United Kingdom on November 27 to December 1.
During the visit, Semikolennykh and Chamber auditor M. Beskhmelnitsyn, who is responsible for control of federal budget spending on industry, energy and construction, transportation, road facilities, communication and informatics, are scheduled to meet with senior officials of the UK's National Audit Office.
The visit program envisages an introduction to the Office's work, an in-depth exchange of views on audit practices in the domains of railway transport, energy and the gas industry, and financial audit, on combating fraud and corruption and on audit of the efficacy in government funds spending in general.
Cooperation between the Audit Chamber of the Russian Federation and the Audit Office of the United Kingdom is being effected in accordance with the Cooperation Agreement concluded between them in May 2002, which inter alia provides for parallel control measures, the exchange of information and documents on the work of each of the sides, and cooperation in organizing the exchange of specialists for improving the methodology and enhancing the standards of their professional activity, as well as in holding consultations on state financial control.
