23 April 2002 00:00 RUSSIAN PRIME MINISTER MIKHAIL KASYANOV TO PAY AN OFFICIAL VISIT TO DENMARK

Mikhail Kasyanov, the Russian Prime Minister, is leaving today for a two-day official visit to Denmark, where he is planning to discuss prospects for bilateral trade and economic relations.
During the visit Kasyanov is scheduled to meet with Danish Prime Minister Anders Fogh Rasmussen, at which the opportunities and prospects of the two countries' cooperation during Copenhagen's Presidency of the European Union in the second half of the current year are expected to be discussed. The sides are also planning to discuss questions of preparation of the Russia-EU summit due to be held in Copenhagen in November. Besides, an important theme of the talks will be further development of trade and economic ties between Russia and Denmark and a discussion of Russia's intentions to join the World Trade Organization.
The program of the Russian Prime Minister's stay in Denmark envisages also an audience with Queen Margreth II of Denmark, and a meeting with the leadership of the Danish parliament and the representatives of Danish big business.
The Russian delegation consists of Minister of Transportation Sergey Frank, who is a co-chairman of the Russian-Danish intergovernmental commission on economic, scientific and technological cooperation; Chairman of the State Fisheries Committee Yevgeny Nazdratenko; Deputy Minister of Economic Development Roald Piskoppel; and Head of the Kaliningrad Regional Administration Vladimir Yegorov.
On Tuesday, April 23, the Russian Prime Minister will conclude his official visit to Denmark and leave for Belgium.
