2001-04-05-02
On April 5, Secretary of the Security Council of the Russian Federation Vladimir Rushailo received in the Kremlin the head of the Government of the Chechen Republic, Stanislav Ilyasov. A number of practical matters concerning the restoration of the economy of the republic and organization of a normal life of the people in the Chechen towns and villages were discussed.
The day before, Rushailo discussed these problems in detail with the head of the Administration of the Chechen Republic, Akhmad Kadyrov.
The keynote of the conversations with the Chechen leaders was the tasks set by the President of Russia at the meeting of the Security Council of the Russian Federation held at the end of March. At issue is the need to step up the efforts for the organization of peaceful life in this member of the Federation and the restoration of the republic's economy, which has fallen into complete decay over the ten years of rule of the illegal regime there.
Vladimir Rushailo exchanged views with Akhmad Kadyrov and Stanislav Ilyasov on the primary directions of work on the fulfillment of the tasks set by the President of Russia. The interlocutors were unanimous in the view that the main focus at this stage ought to be on the establishment of an efficacious administrative system and completion of the formation of the apparatus of the government of the republic. The main efforts are expected to be directed to the restoration of the oil and gas complex as the chief budget-forming industry of the Chechen Republic, as well as to the all-out development of the agribusiness and the social sector.
