The former vice-chairman of Chechnya government was killed today at 3.40 a.m. in Moscow.

The former Vice-premier of Chechnya government Yan Sergunin was shot down with the automatic gun together with his wife. Sergunin has died on the spot of the wounds and his wife is taken to hospital in grave condition.
The killer has escaped on a motorcycle.
Sergunin had been vice-chairman in Stanislav Ilyasov’s government since October 2001. Akhmat Kadyrov appointed him the head of the staff of Chechen Republic administration. General Sergunin knew Chechen language and traditions very well. His wife Kamilla is Chechen. It should be added that Yan Sergunin had worked in juridical department of the Supreme Court of the RF for a long time. As a head of the juridical department of Chechnya he contributed to developing juridical system of the republic.
