Russia: Six reported killed, 41 wounded in militants` attack in Ingushetia
Moscow, 22 June: As reported at 0615 [0215 gmt], a total of six people have been killed and 41 wounded and taken to Ingushetia's central republican hospital as a result of the attack by [Chechen] militants on the republic's towns and villages, a source in Ingushetia's Emergencies Ministry told RIA. "The Interior Ministry's warehouses in Nazran [former capital of Ingushetia] are currently on fire. The buildings of Ingushetia's Interior Ministry and of the border post in Nazran are partially destroyed," the source said. He said that the building of the special purpose police and the town police station in Karbulak had been partially destroyed. "The militants' detachment entered Nazran at 2245 [1845 gmt on 21 June] and Karabulak at 2300 [1900 gmt on 21 June]. The military action continued until 0300 on 22 June [2300 gmt on 21 June]. The Emergencies Ministry's officers are currently cleaning up after the night combat in Nazran," the source said. [In a report at 0200 gmt on 22 June Ekho Moskvy radio, Moscow, in Russian, said that a total of 30 policemen had been killed as a result of the Chechen militants' attack in Nazran]
