Lithuania, Russia to revise transit arrangements for Russian exclave
Tallinn, 21 June. Russia and Lithuania have agreed on the signing of a new agreement on the transit of military men to Kaliningrad Region across Lithuanian territory. This was noted today during a meeting of the two countries' prime ministers, Mikhail Fradkov [Russia] and Algirdas Brazauskas [Lithuania], at Laulasmaa in the outskirts of Tallinn, Estonia. During the meeting, the parties also discussed trade and economic cooperation between Russia and Lithuania. As Brazauskas noted during the talks, today's meeting with the Russian prime minister was one in a series of " regular meetings". At the same time, Mikhail Fradkov told journalists in Tallinn last night that he was going to raise the entire subject of transit to Kaliningrad in his talks with the Lithuanian prime minister. The Russian side is not satisfied with the procedure and the cost of transit, Fradkov said.
