Russians bank on net scam
RUSSIAN mafia bosses are targeting Scots bank accounts in a monster billion-pound scam. The Royal Bank of Scotland has confirmed fake emails are being sent to customers asking them to confirm pin codes. And the info is going straight into the hands of East European or Chinese crime syndicates. A spokesman for RBS said: "We have been advising customers to delete these emails without responding." The Royal Bank have so far foiled the crooks, while Halifax, Lloyds TSB and Nationwide have also been targeted. In the US last year, an estimated 1.8million people were tricked out of pounds 1.2billion. But cops from the National High Tech Crime Unit confirmed Scotland is now under attack.
