ALFAINSURANCE INSURES TELE2
MOSCOW. June 18 (Interfax) - Russian insurance company AlfaInsurance has signed a contract with major Swedish telecommunications holding company Tele2, which is working on the Russian cellular market. The insurance company said in a press release that the contract was signed after AlfaInsurance won a tender held by Tele2, in which four Russian insurance companies participated. The contract covers all property belonging to the holding company's subsidiaries, including special telecommunications and office equipment. This equipment is being insured against all risks, including breakdowns. In addition, companies in Tele2 are insured against disruptions caused by damage to equipment. The contract is valid for one year and the coverage amounts to 1.5 billion Swedish krona. All risks are reinsured by the Swedish insurance company Modern Insurances. In 2003 AlfaInsurance was in 16th place on the Interfax-100 rating of Russian insurance companies in terms of assets.
