Court refuses to stop Yukos/Tax Ministry dispute
MOSCOW. June 18 (Interfax) - Moscow Arbitration Court on Friday rejected a request from Yukos to stop hearings regarding the company's dispute with the Tax Ministry, an Interfax correspondent reported from the court. Yukos based its request on the criminal case against former Yukos chief Mikhail Khodorkovsky and Menatep boss Platon Lebedev, who are charged with tax evasion. The Tax Ministry accuses Yukos of evading taxes through domestic offshores. The ministry completed a check on Yukos for 2000 taxes on April 14, after which it said the company owed 99.37 billion rubles in back taxes and fines. [RU ASIA EUROPE EEU EMRG ENR CRIM CORA] me
