Yukos share trading suspended
MOSCOW. June 17 (Interfax) - The Russian Trading System (RTS) suspended trading with Yukos shares at 5:00 p.m., Moscow time, for one hour or until the end of trading. When trading was stopped, the share price averaged $7.32, up 12.08% from its opening price and over the 10% restriction written into the exchange's regulations. The shares surged after President Vladimir Putin said the government did not want Yukos to go bankrupt. After the news, Yukos jumped 32.2% on the MICEX to 240 rubles, but then began to slide.
