RUSSIA TO UP FUEL, ENERGY EXPORTS 1.2%-4.4% IN 2005
MOSCOW. June 15 (Interfax) - Russia will increase fuel and energy exports 1.2%-4.4% in 2005, according to a forecast by the Federal Energy Agency for the period 2005-2007. The agency said oil and gas would account for 43.9%-45.6% and 35.7%- 34.6% of the exports respectively. Depending how volatile oil prices are, revenues from crude exports to countries outside the CIS will either fall 13.1% in 2005 compared with 2003 or rise 16.2%. Revenues from electricity exports to the non- CIS will go up 15.1%-31.5%. In 2005, it is forecast that automobile gasoline exports will rise 0.01%-9.3% compared with 2003, with increases of 1%-3.4% for diesel and 3.5%-4.9% for gas. Fuel and energy sector profits are forecast to grow 9%-12% in 2005. Fixed assets worth 714.6 million-721.4 million rubles should be Fuel oil exports should fall 7.5% and coal exports will be 52 million-53 million tonnes, as in 2003, the forecast says. Crude oil exports to the CIS should rise by 5.8 million tonnes, oil product exports by 700,000 tonnes and electricity exports 900 million kWh in 2005 compared with 2003. Coal exports to the CIS will fall 800,000 tonnes and gas supplies will fall slightly. Natural gas imports from the CIS will fall by 4.7 billion cubic meters (bcm) and crude imports by 4.5 million tonnes. Coal imports from the CIS in 2005 will be level with 2003. introduced that year. They include 2,182 megawatts of power generating capacity, 3,370 new oil wells, 1,344 km of trunk product pipelines, 1,835 km of trunk gas pipelines, capacity to deep-refine 400,000 tonnes of crude per year and capacity to mine 11.4 million tonnes of coal per year.
