18 June 2004 15:10 Another candidate seeks registration in Chechen presidential elections The number of contenders for the post of Chechnya's president has reached 12 people. Roza Vakhidova, an
unemployed resident of Groznyy with a diploma of an actress, submitted her application to the electoral commission
today.
Other candidates are presidential advisor [for Chechen President Akhmat Kadyrov, killed on 9 May this year] Vakha
Visayev, Moscow businessman Malik Saydullayev, professor at the Chechen State University Sultan Ayskhanov and
others.
Chechen Interior Minister Alu Alkhanov announced his decision to take part in the elections a few days ago. However,
he has not yet officially applied to the electoral commission. The deadline for application is 14 July.
