Eurasian community leaders sign new documents
Astana, 18 June: The presidents of the Eurasian Economic Community [the EAEC of Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia and Tajikistan - the former Customs Union] signed an agreement on the status of the legislative basis of the Eurasian Economic Community, the procedure to draw it up, approve and implement it and an agreement on the EAEC member states' cooperation in the securities market in Astana today. An Interfax-Kazakhstan news agency correspondent reported that the ceremony to sign the documents had been held after the talks conducted as part of a meeting of an interstate council of the Eurasian Economic Community. The documents were signed by Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev, Russian President Vladimir Putin, Tajik President Emomali Rahmonov, Belarusian President Alyaksandr Lukashenka and Kyrgyz President Askar Akayev.
