Putin ratifies Russian-Uzbek agreement on joint use of air forces
MOSCOW. June 16 (Interfax) - Russian President Vladimir Putin has ratified the Russian-Uzbek agreement on the joint use of the Russian air forces and the Uzbek anti-air defense and air forces to ensure the security of both countries' air space, the presidential press service reported. The law was passed by the State Duma on June 2, 2004 and approved by the Federation Council on June 9, 2004. Experts say that the law will help to ensure the security of Russia's air space in Central Asia and aid the development of Russian- Uzbek cooperation in military matters.
