Georgia not planning to privatize railway
TBILISI. June 16 (Interfax) - Georgia is not yet planning to privatize its railway, which one of the key sections in the Eurasian transport corridor, David Onoprishvili, the general director of Georgian Railways, told the press Wednesday. Onoprishvili was commenting on a statement by Vladimir Yukunin, the first vice president of Russian Railways, that the Russian company was ready to participate in the privatization of Georgia's railway. The railway is a strategic facility and will not be fully sold off, Onoprishvili said. Only certain parts of the railway will be privatized and that is a long way off, he said.
