Russia - MTS posts Q1 2004 net profit of USDlr207.8 mil
Mobile TeleSystems (MTS) (Russia), mobile operator, has reported net profit of USDlr207.8 mil for 1st-qtr 2004, up more than twofold from USDlr80.2 mil a year earlier, on revenue up to USDlr808.7 mil, from USDlr446.1 mil. Analysts had forecast net profit of USDlr174 mil and revenue of USDlr802 mil. ARPU was USDlr14.40, down from USDlr19 a year earlier, and missing analysts' forecasts of USDlr14.60.
