TNK-BP ENCOURAGES EC ASSISTANCE
MOSCOW. June 15 (Interfax) - TNK-BP encourages EC to assist in constructing new export terminals and pipelines, TNK-BP Vice President Shawn McCormick told Interfax. Now, with high oil prices and expanding production, is the time to build additional export infrastructure, he said. Here we see important opportunities for EU investment guarantees that will lower risk and attract private capital to help build new export terminals and pipelines. Ninety percent of Russian oil exports go to Europe, accounting for one-quarter of European oil imports, he noted. According to McCormick, TNK-BP exported 250 million barrels of crude and oil products to the European countries in 2003.
