17 June 2004 12:28 Russian nationalists say they will get round move to ban their party Moscow, 17 June: The hearing of the case on the closure of the National Bolshevik Party (NBP) has been postponed to
20 June, a RIA-Novosti correspondent reports from the courtroom of the Moscow Regional Court. The hearing was adjourned
at the request of NBP representatives after their lawyer failed to turn up.
The party leader, Eduard Limonov, told journalists that complaints made against the NBP by the Moscow Region
prosecutor's office were unjustified. "We will fight to the end, even if the court rules against us. Nobody
intends to let themselves get closed down," he noted.
Limonov said that, whatever happens, the organization will keep the abbreviation NBP. He said: "For example, we
may simply rename ourselves National Bolshevik Procedure." [Russian: Natsional-Bolshevistskiy Poryadok - NBP.
"Poryadok" in this instance can also be translated as "Order" - i.e. National Bolshevik Order.]
