Russian Far East Defence Ministry premises lose electricity over unpaid bills
Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk, 17 June: Sakhalin power engineering workers are cutting electricity supplies to Defence Ministry installations that are in debt to the tune of almost R16m. As reported today by the press centre of the Sakhalinenergo company, so far the cuts apply to "installations of secondary importance" in the villages of Khomutovo and Sokol and in the town of Aniva. Energy has been cut to these installations with regard to servicemen's flats and housing. The power engineering workers hope that cutting volumes of electricity supplies will motivate Sakhalin structures of the Defence Ministry to clear their debts.
