Russian Prime Minister praises LUKoil terminal at Baltic Sea port Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Fradkov has taken part in the opening ceremony of the first [petroleum products]
terminal at the Baltic Sea port of Vysotsk in Leningrad Region, RIA news agency said on 16 June.
"A large volume of work has been done within a short period of time. A remarkable terminal, which can be further
expanded, has been built. This is the case when business interests coincide with state interests. This is a large
promising project, which will make it possible to implement business and state plans. The construction of the terminal
will enable us to build up cooperation with foreign countries," Fradkov said.
The Russian and foreign experts participated in the project, he added.
Ilya Klebanov, the presidential envoy to the Northwest Federal District, said that "the construction of the
terminal is the beginning of the fulfilment of President Vladimir Putin's instructions to double Russia's
GDP".
The ceremony of putting into operation the first stage of [Russian oil major] LUKoil's terminal took place in
Vysotsk today within the framework of the 8th international economic forum in St Petersburg.
The capacity of the terminal's first stage will total 4.7m tonnes of oil and petroleum products per year,
ITAR-TASS news agency said on 16 June.
