15 June 2004 01:39 Russian envoy upbeat on trade cooperation with China Harbin, 15 June: Trade and economic ties between Russia and China continue to grow, and this year the volume of
bilateral trade may amount to 20bn dollars, plenipotentiary presidential representative in the Far Eastern Federal
District Konstantin Pulikovskiy told journalists today. He heads the Russian delegation at the 15th international trade
and economic fair in Harbin.
"We have entered a new stage of economic cooperation, and we are now talking not only about turnover and trade
but also about investments and about setting up joint ventures," Pulikovskiy said. The Russian-Chinese investment
forum which was held in Khabarovsk on 9-10 June was a major contribution to this, he said. Contracts to the sum of 700m
dollars were signed just on its first day, and the total value of the agreements signed in Khabarovsk was 2bn
dollars.
