Russian envoy upbeat on trade cooperation with China
Harbin, 15 June: Trade and economic ties between Russia and China continue to grow, and this year the volume of bilateral trade may amount to 20bn dollars, plenipotentiary presidential representative in the Far Eastern Federal District Konstantin Pulikovskiy told journalists today. He heads the Russian delegation at the 15th international trade and economic fair in Harbin. "We have entered a new stage of economic cooperation, and we are now talking not only about turnover and trade but also about investments and about setting up joint ventures," Pulikovskiy said. The Russian-Chinese investment forum which was held in Khabarovsk on 9-10 June was a major contribution to this, he said. Contracts to the sum of 700m dollars were signed just on its first day, and the total value of the agreements signed in Khabarovsk was 2bn dollars. [Passage omitted: he said 64 investment projects of the federal district are on display at the Harbin fair]
