Moldovan, Russian premiers discuss gas debts
In St Petersburg, Moldovan Prime Minister Vasile Tarlev has met his Russian counterpart Mikhail Fradkov. The Russian
prime minister said he plans to pay an official visit to Moldova soon. Tarlev spoke out in favour of signing a new
agreement on [Russian] gas supplies to Moldova, which will include a new rates policy.
Another issue discussed by the two prime ministers was the payment by Moldova of its debts for Russian gas. Fradkov
says Russia will support Moldova's efforts to reschedule its foreign debts through the Paris Club of creditors.
