Plant on the right track
The Novokramatorsk machine-building plant is supplying the second batch of car reducers to the Southern Ural railroad in Russia. The first two modern machines designed for the regulation of the speed of car uncoupling and mechanization of operations at shunting yards have already been delivered to Chelyabinsk. Last year six car reducers were shipped to the Ural region, and the same number is to be exported under a new contract. In recent years the plant has made some 70 car reducers, which operate smoothly in Russia, Ukraine and Belarus. Two new machines, which are more economical than their predecessors, are undergoing tests at the station Krasny Lyman, Donetsk region.
