will visit the site of a liquefied natural gas plant in the village of Prigorodnoye.
The Sakhalin-2 project involves the development of the Piltun- Astokhsky and Lunskoye fields off the Sakhalin coast.
Total reserves of oil and gas at these deposits amount to 185 million tonnes and 800 billion cubic meters
respectively.
The operator of the project is Sakhalin Energy, founded by Shell (55%), Mitsui (25%) and Mitsubishi (20%).
Sakhalin Energy has signed contracts to supply 1.1 million tonnes of LNG a year to Japan's Tokyo Gas, 0.5
million tonnes to Kyushu Electric, 0.3 million tonnes a year to Toho Gas and 1.5 million tonnes to Tokyo Electricity.
