U.S. AMBASSADOR WANTS BETTER COPYRIGHT PROTECTION IN RUSSIA
MOSCOW. June 10 (Interfax) - Steps taken by Russia to improve copyright protection will be essential for the success of World Trade Organization entry talks with the United States, U.S. Ambassador to Russia Alexander Vershbow said in an interview with Kommersant published on Thursday. Russia should adhere to international copyright agreements and conventions, the ambassador said. The U.S. has made it clear that it will not be able to convince its citizens and the entire world that Russia is ready to join the WTO if it does not see specific steps in the area of copyright protection, which is one of the key issues on the agenda of Russia's WTO accession talks with the United States. ###
