Communists critical of Duma handling of housing bills
MOSCOW. June 10 (Interfax) - The Communist Party's parliamentary faction plans to file a request with the Constitutional Court asking it to examine violations that accompanied the State Duma's first reading of a bill aimed at creating an affordable housing market on Thursday. "During the so-called discussion, the opposition factions' deputies had only three minutes each to put forward their arguments," reads a Communist Party press release circulated late on Thursday. The country's regions "were deprived of their right to join the debates on housing bills, which concern both the regions and the federal government," the document says. "Given this gravest violation of constitutional and regulation norms, the Communist Party views these bills as illegitimate, and will appeal this decision in the Constitutional Court," says the press release.
