Tekhnopromexport to bid in Uruguay tenders
MOSCOW. June 10 (Interfax) - Russia's Tekhnopromexport company will bid in a series of tenders to build energy-generating facilities in Uruguay, said the company's press service. This decision was made by Tekhnopromexport chief Sergei Molozhavy after his meeting with Uruguay's Industry, Energy and Mines Minister Jose Villar, and the director of the state-owned electricity distribution company, Ricardo Scaglia. Their meeting took place on the sidelines of a forum of South American and Russian businessmen in Montevideo. The meeting also addressed the construction of a 400 kilometer power transmission line to link Uruguay and Brazil, and plans to build several thermal power plants in Uruguay. Tekhnopromexport is ready to present Uruguay with its suggestions on these projects. Tenders will be announced after all technical documents dealing with the projects have been drawn up. Tekhnopromexport has already built more than 32,000 kilometers of power transmission lines in 19 countries. [RU EUROPE EEU EMRG POL] tm tl
