Moscow union activists picket replacement of benefits
MOSCOW. June 10 (Interfax) - About 20 people from the Moscow Trade Union Federation picketed the Economic Development and Trade Ministry building on Thursday. Protesters guarded by 15 police officers held posters saying "Decent Wages: Core of Reform," "Social Guarantees for the People," "Protect Working People's Rights," and "Hands off Labor Law.". Leaflets were distributed explaining that the Cabinet is moving bills that trample the rights of working people. Very few people, far fewer than the numbers given by the organizers in their applications to authorize the protests, attended the pickets outside the Education and Science Ministry, the Health and Social Development Ministry and at the Monument to Karl Marx, a Moscow Police Headquarters official told Interfax. All the protests proceeded without incident, he said. [RU EUROPE ASIA EMRG JOB] ap aw
