Contracts worth $700 million signed at Russia-China investment forum
ended in Khabarovsk on Thursday with the signing of 12 contracts and agreements worth a total of about $700 million, a source in the press service for the presidential envoy in the Far East told Interfax on KHABAROVSK. June 10 (Interfax) - A Russian-Chinese investment forum Thursday. The Russian-Chinese permanent working group for investments held their first meeting under the chairmanship of presidential envoy in the Far East Konstantin Pulikovsky during the forum. A number of investment projects were presented at the group meeting, including the construction of a railroad connecting Berkakit, Tommot and Yakutsk, development of the Garinsk iron ore deposit in the Amur region, and construction of a chemi-thermomechanical pulp and newsprint plant in the Khabarovsk territory. The development of a brown coal deposit in the Magadan region and the production and refinement of East Siberian quartz ore into high quality silicon for electronics production in the Irkutsk region are also prime targets for investments.
