Russia to up oil output 8.2%, gas - 3.5% in Q2
MOSCOW. June 10 (Interfax) - Crude oil production in Russia in the second quarter 2004 is expected to amount to 111.4 million tonnes, which is 8.4 million tonnes or 8.2% more than in the same period in 2003. This information was submitted at an Industry and Energy Ministry meeting on the use of trunk oil, gas and product pipelines on Wednesday, the ministry's PR service said. Growth in gasoline and diesel production in the second quarter is forecast to amount to 250,000 and 310,000 tonnes or 3.5% and 2.4% Primary oil refining will amount to 47.3 million tonnes, with exports by all means of transport at 61.3 million tonnes - an increase of 6.3 million tonnes or 11.5% year-on-year. Primary oil refining is set to amount to 48.2 million tonnes, with exports by all means of transport at 63 million tonnes - up by 1.7 respectively. Fuel oil production is set to fall by 205,000 tonnes or 1.6%. Gas production in the second quarter 2004 is set to increase by 5.2 billion cubic meters or 3.5% year-on-year to reach 153.2 bcm. Gas consumption on the domestic market will increase by 5.5 bcm or 6.5%, with gas exports up by 900 million cubic meters or 2%. Participants in the meeting also confirmed a crude oil balance for the third quarter 2003, involving growth in production to 112.4 million tonnes - an increase of 1 million tonnes from the second quarter 2004. million tonnes or 1% from the second quarter 2004. Production of oil products in the third quarter is forecast as follows: gasoline - 7.8 million tonnes, an increase of 340,000 tonnes of 4.6% year-on-year; diesel - 13.9 million tonnes - an increase of 440,000 tonnes or 3.3%; fuel oil - 12.6 million tonnes - down by 120,000 tonnes or 0.9%.
