North Korean leader receives head of Russian performing group
Pyongyang, 11 June: Kim Jong-il, general secretary of the Korean Workers' Party, chairman of the National Defence Commission of the DPRK [Democratic People's Republic of Korea] and supreme commander of the Korean People's Army, today received Viktor Eliseyev, head and chief conductor of the visiting State Academy Ensemble of the Ministry of Interior of Russia. Present there were Andrey Karlov, Russian ambassador e.p. [extraordinary and plenipotentiary] to the DPRK, and his wife. Kim Jong-il warmly welcomed the visit of the ensemble to the DPRK and had a warm conversation with the guest.
