Russia ups gold production 10.6% in 4 mths
MOSCOW. June 9 (Interfax) - Russia increased gold production 10.6% year-on-year to 33.129 tonnes in the first four months of 2004, the Gold Producers' Union told Interfax. The Union said mine production fell 0.7% to 25.561 tonnes, but by- product or incidental gold production increased 27.6% to 3.72 tonnes and recoveries from scrap or secondary production soared 190% to 3.847 tonnes.
