10 June 2004 10:54 Russian premier hails visa accords with Italy, France simplifying travel [Presenter] The government has approved the signing of agreements with Italy and France simplifying the visa regime
on a mutual basis. [Prime Minister] Mikhail Fradkov has said as follows.
[Fradkov] We have managed to secure coordinated positions with our partners from Italy and France on the possibility
of simplifying entry, transit and exit of citizens. This primarily concerns some categories of businessmen, students and
foreign languages teachers. The agreements provide for substantial privileges such as possible long-term visas and a
full or partial exemption of visa fees. The agreements are not only of great political importance, but they also make it
possible to greatly step up bilateral cooperation in the sphere of economy, science, culture and sport. The trips of
officials and delegations will also be made simpler.
