Pakistan to attend Leather Fair in Moscow
KARACHI, June 8 (PPI): Chairman Pakistan Leather Garments Manufacturers and Exporters Association (PLGMEA), Fawad Ijaz Khan has said Pakistan will participate in MosLeather-2004 exhibition being held at Moscow from 9th to 11th June, 2004. In a statement here on June 7, he said that exhibitors from India, Italy and UK will also participate in the fair. 14 leather exporters from Pakistan will display their high quality products in the exhibition, he added. Size of Russian Leather Garments market is over US$ 1 billion and it is second largest leather market after USA. He said that official export of leather garments from Pakistan to Russia during July 2003 till March 2004 was US$ 1.5 million, which was nearly five times more than exports during corresponding period last year. He hoped that after implementation of WTO regime there would be further reduction in customs duties by Russian authorities, which will increase the volume of official trade between the two countries.
