09 June 2004 22:31 Russian-Chinese investment forum yields deals worth 700m dollars Khabarovsk, 9 June: The plenary work of the Russian-Chinese investment forum was today concluded with the signing of
12 contracts and agreements worth about 700m dollars in total in Khabarovsk.
The documents envisage the participation of big Chinese capital in the development of highly efficient production in
various Russian regions and industries. This includes the setting up of joint ventures for cutting and extensive
processing of timber on Khabarovsk Territory and in Chita and Tomsk regions. In the Jewish Autonomous Region, soybeans
will be grown using Chinese technologies and in the village of Pogranichnoye of the Maritime Territory, an industrial
zone for assembly of consumer electronics and light industry will be set up.
