09 June 2004 18:42 RUSSIA: RUSSIAN INFLATION SLOWS Consumer prices rose at the slowest monthly rate since September, as milk, fruit and vegetable prices fell and bread
and cereal rose at a slower pace, the Federal Statistics Service said. Consumer prices rose 0.7 percent in May after
rising 1 percent in April, the service said in a report. Food prices rose 0.4 percent, while non-food prices rose 0.8
percent and services rose 1.4 percent. Prices in September rose 0.3 percent. Russia is working to cut the inflation rate
to between 8 percent and 10 percent this year after meeting its inflation target last year for the first time since
