RUSSIA: RUSSIAN INFLATION SLOWS
Consumer prices rose at the slowest monthly rate since September, as milk, fruit and vegetable prices fell and bread and cereal rose at a slower pace, the Federal Statistics Service said. Consumer prices rose 0.7 percent in May after rising 1 percent in April, the service said in a report. Food prices rose 0.4 percent, while non-food prices rose 0.8 percent and services rose 1.4 percent. Prices in September rose 0.3 percent. Russia is working to cut the inflation rate to between 8 percent and 10 percent this year after meeting its inflation target last year for the first time since 1997, even as rates of municipal services, such as transportation, heating and power, rise. - (EMEconomy.com)
