Russian Duma passes amendments to Tax Code
[Presenter] The State Duma passed amendments to the tax code in the third and final reading at its plenary session today [9 June]. Our correspondent Aleksandr Korostoshevskaya has the details. [Correspondent] Disabled athletes, participants in the Paralympics, the Olympics for the deaf, as well as European and Russian games, who receive prize money or other prizes, will not have to pay personal income tax on them. Other amendments to the tax code require gambling business organizers to pay taxes in the regions where their parlours are located. The law on education has also been amended: nonstate education establishments are now allowed to take out bank loans. [Passage omitted: other matters debated in the Duma]
