EU OPENS ANTI-DUMPING PROBE INTO SPECIALTY STEEL IMPORTS FROM RUSSIA AND THE US. The European Commission has opened an anti-dumping investigation into imports of specialty steel from Russia and the
United States. The inquiry, prompted by a complaint by European steel lobby Eurofer, will examine the products of
grain-oriented, flat-rolled silicon-electrical steel, a specialty sector that accounts for a marginal trade for a
handful of European producers. The European Union Official Journal said that “it is alleged that the volumes and the
prices of the imported product concerned have (...) had a negative impact on the market share held and the quantities
sold by the Community industry”.
