07 June 2004 07:35 Tariffs may include UES spending on hydropower plant shares MOSCOW. June 7 (Interfax) - Unified Energy System of Russia expenditures on part of a Krasnoyarsk hydropower plant
share issue could be included in electricity tariffs, Deputy Economic Development and Trade Minister Andrei Sharonov
told Interfax.
The proposal was discussed at a meeting chaired by Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Zhukov on June 2, he said.
The Economic Development Ministry and Federal Tariffs Service were given two weeks to submit proposals determining
sources that could finance UES spending on acquiring shares in Krasnoyarsk hydropower plant with forecasts on possible
consequences in establishing electricity tariffs for final consumers, including the population.
Krasnoyarsk hydropower plant shareholders approved an additional share issue and now UES needs to buy shares in the
plant so as not to lose its stake in the station, however, UES does not have the money to do so, Sharonov said. [RU ASIA
